PortableApps.com is a web site where you can download a suite of applications that can be stored on a USB flash drive and used on any computer. If you find yourself at a PC that doesn’t have your favorite programs (like Firefox and OpenOffice), just plug in your USB drive with PortableApps installed and all those applications will be at your fingertips again.
The downloadable suite comes with a number of programs already bundled, but you can add on additional applications from the site. Of particular interest are the accessibility apps, which include an on-screen keyboard and a screen magnifier; a CD/DVD burner; and a secure password manager.
